"Gorgeous on all accounts, with vibrant, crème de cassis, licorice, graphite, and hints of charcoal, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied, concentrated, and focused on the palate, with a great finish. It's a seriously impressive Cabernet Sauvignon that's going to be even better with short-term cellaring and keep for 20+ years."

"Medium to full-bodied, lively and purely fruited on the palate, it has a firm, grainy backbone and long finish of spicy layers."

"Containing a 5% splash of Merlot and aged 19 months in French oak (80% new), the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color with vibrant notions of red and black currents, violets, blackberries and black cherries, plus a cinnamon toast and pencil shavings undercurrent. Medium to full-bodied, lively and purely fruited on the palate, it has a firm, grainy backbone and long finish of spicy layers."

"This blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot is deep, rich, concentrated and authoritative..."

"This blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot is deep, rich, concentrated and authoritative. Dense ruby/purple-colored, with crème de cassis and blacker fruits, some licorice and incense, it is full-bodied, beautifully pure, with sweet tannin and a long, layered finish. This is high-brow, impressive Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 15-20 years."

2014 Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon

"It's a smoking good Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming decades."

"All Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate vineyard, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep, inky color to go with a terrific bouquet of black currants, scorched earth, licorice, and chocolate. Full-bodied, rich, opulent and concentrated, with a great mid-palate and tons of fruit. It's a smoking good Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming decades."

"… blackberry and black licorice aromas follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a tight and polished finish."

"So much blackberry and black licorice aromas follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a tight and polished finish. Muscular and fit red. Needs two or three years of bottle age to soften."

2013 Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon

"…profoundly deep style of Cabernet Sauvignon… without any sense of heaviness. Pure and ripe…"

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from their vineyard in St. Helena is a slightly richer, broader and more profoundly deep style of Cabernet Sauvignon than the 2012 with a nearly opaque ruby/purple color, with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit in the intense and persistent aromatics. Full-bodied with the same alcohol as the 2012 (14.8%), the wine cuts a broad swath across the palate without any sense of heaviness. Pure and ripe but still youthful and relatively unevolved, this should be cellared for another 3-5 years and drink over the following two decades.

2014 Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon

"… fabulous purity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet tannin and a long finish."

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon may ultimately be as good as the 2013, which is not easy. Beautiful sweet blueberry and black raspberry fruit and cassis are all present in this wine that has fabulous purity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet tannin and a long finish. The final judgement will be from bottle, but this is a strong 2014.

2010 Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon

"A classy and classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon without the occasionally over-the-top opulence of some of the wines from further south in the valley. "

Deep purple color, saturated, and still eminently youthful; the nose is cleary redolent of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as evidenced by the predominantly blue and black berry fruit aromas that are subtly underscored by vanillin and espresso accents imparted by the new French oak barrels used in the aging regimen. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but sleek with fine quality, well-integrated tannins in abundance. This is a sexier wine than the 2009. It is both classy and classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon without the occasionally over-the-top opulence of some of the wines from further south in the valley. It displays remarkable poise and elegance and real potential for long-term aging (15 to 20 years where well-stored). The qualitative progress from one vintage to the next is impressive and encouraging here and would tend to confirm the potential of this Saint Helena vineyard.
